On Thursday, October 17, at 6:30 pm, there will be an Initiative 416 update meeting at the CFEP office in Omaha, 1105 Howard Street. The office is upstairs at Vendors Square in the Old Market, above Spaghetti Works.

This meeting is with CFEP, ACLU-Nebraska, and Lambda Legal Defense lawyers about the status of efforts to address Initiative 416, the anti-gay marriage amendment to the Nebraska Constitution. The lawyers will inform us about what has been done and what they propose next.

They will be interested in hearing any information on 416 being applied anywhere, and about any couples whose backgrounds and lives would present excellent examples to the public of how 416 hurts families by banning any recongnition of their relationships. Everyone is encouraged to attend, especially couples!
