New GLBT Coffeehouse

The GLBT Welcoming Committee at the Unitarian Church is sponsoring a coffeehouse on Friday, June 15 from 8:00 to 11:00 PM.
The format is intended to provide a social meeting place other than the bars. Coffee, soft drinks, and light snacks will be available in a non-smoking atmosphere. Musical performers, poets, and actors will be invited to share their talents.
It is hoped that the event will be a success and that we can continue to offer the coffeehouse monthly on the third Friday.
Volunteer musicians, poets, and actors who would like to perform should contact a member of the Unitarian Church GLBT Welcoming Committee.
Lincoln GLBT Pride Month Celebration

The Nebraska Coalition for Gay and Lesbian Civil Rights is gearing up again this year to sponsor the National Gay Pride Month festivities in Lincoln. The event is June 9 for 4:00 to 10:00 PM in Cooper Park, at 8th and D Streets. The event will be a potluck with hot dogs and pop furnished. There will be rally and a huge hooray for the victory of Terry Werner for city council. We will also enjoy speakers, vendors, music and games. Anyone interested in coming as an organization or for vending, contact Deanna Zaffke at 474-2117.
