The annual election of PFLAG Board Members will be held at the August General Meeting. If you wish to be considered for election to the board, mark this on the back of the membership renewal form which will be included in the August Spectrum issue (or you can download the form on the website).

Board members meet the first Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:00 AM, oversee PFLAG's operations including activities, finances, and outreach. Each board member is responsible for a meeting program each year, and may be members of the committee responsible for planning the Holiday Party in December, and generally take on the various tasks of our organization.

Our PFLAG President, Bill, has moved out of state to take a new job and PFLAG wishes him well in his new employment. However, he will be much missed here, needless to say. We have greatly appreciated his presidency for the past three years. It has seemed like he was always one who went to many events to represent us. This representation involved a large time commitment, and Bill was always willing.

Bill is one of our members who has no GLBT children or relatives in his family that he knows of, but joined PFLAG some years ago because he deplored the cruel agenda of the religious right which uses an erroneous literal and out-of-context interpretation of the Bible to further its hatred for political purposes.

We hope Bill will join a PFLAG chapter in his new location, or if there is none, we hope he starts one. Thanks Bill! You will be missed.
