With loads of delicious food to enjoy, over 70 persons of all ages, color, orientation and gender and also guests from South Carolina, New Mexico, Kansas and Africa enjoyed an air conditioned PFLAG summer picnic at the July PFLAG 25th Anniversary Party.

Memorial awards were given to several people. After the 7:00 PM small groups session, at 8:00pm, we celebrated our many members’ short and long term commitments, starting with under one year to 35 years. Our longest time committers were Chris Shepherd and Jeanie Fast who have been together for 16 years and George and John who have been committed for 33 years! Afterwards, pioneer and long time members shared early memories and stories of PFLAG Cornhusker with additional stories from the audience. Everyone also enjoyed two big anniversary cakes decorated with the new PFLAG emblem. Thanks go to Collette for furnishing the cakes and to Vern who chaired the party!
